Mindy Yocum, Esq.
Mindy Yocum - was born in Shelby, Ohio and moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Ms. Yocum’s passion is increasing access to justice for those who may not traditionally have access to legal resources. So, after nearly twenty years of work in customer service and restaurant management, Ms. Yocum decided to change careers, returning to school, and in 2015 she received her law degree from Capital University Law School. Shortly after passing the Ohio Bar exam, Ms. Yocum opened her own law firm, Yocum Law Office, with a focus on increasing access to justice, offering flexible fees and flat fee services. She is also proud to have an “of Counsel” relationship with the law firm, Barkan Meizlish, managing the Social Security Disability department for the firm. In 2019, Ms. Yocum started the non-profit mobile legal clinic, the JusticeMobile, in an effort to provide legal education and resources to people in rural and underserved areas. She has been recognized as an ABA “Legal Rebel”, named a “Future 50” CEO by Columbus CEO magazine, named an Ohio State Bar Association fellow, and received a Central Ohio Social Justice Award for her work in increasing access to justice. More recently, Ms. Yocum founded Kind Counsel, a consulting firm dedicated to helping attorneys create stronger and more profitable law firms, by improving their client management and relationships.
