Which cases do I want? This presentation will guide practitioners on what type of cases to take, what cases to avoid, and what cases may need a little work. Dealing with potentially bad cases at intake and how to improve them or show them the door. Cases such as Fibromyalgia, DA&A issues, no treatment, also how to handle hard to deal with claimants. In addition, what evidence do I need to make a good case even better.

Scott Smith - joined Sternberg Newman in 1997 as a law clerk and a year later was hired as an Associate. Sternberg Newman became Shifrin Newman Smith Inc. in 2003 when Scott Smith became a partner. The firm became Smith Godios Sorensen Inc. in January 2019. He is a University of Akron Law School Graduate and has been admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court. Scott was granted a fellowship by the Akron Bar Association foundation. Scott belongs to the Akron Trial Lawyers Association and the National Association of Social Security Claimant Representatives (NOSSCR) where he sits as a member of the board representing the Sixth Circuit. He is a member of the Grievance Committee and serves on the Fee Dispute Panel for the Akron Bar Association.
