Disability Migraine and Headache Disorder


This session will discuss the definition and diagnostic criteria for migraine, disability and impairments due to migraine, current state of the process of making an SSDI claim for migraine – as viewed by a neurologist, and ongoing efforts to improve the process of sequential evaluation for migraine SSDI claimants.

Dr. Robert Shapiro, MD is a neurology specialist in Burlington, VT and has been practicing for 27 years. He graduated from Columbia U, College of Phys/Surg in 1987 and specializes in neurology.

Ellyce Anapolsky, Esq., Attorney

Ellyce Anapolsky is currently a staff attorney at the Legal Council for Health Justice.  Since 2004, she has represented clients primarily in SSI and SSDI benefit cases. Ellyce also plays a significant role in training individuals, attorneys and medical staff on issues involving Medicare, Social Security and other benefits matters. Ellyce graduated cum laude from John Marshall Law School where she received an Exemplary Public Service Award from Equal Justice Works as well as an Equal Justice America Fellowship.
